I am very proud and honored to serve as the principal for Glacier Hills Elementary School of Arts & Science (GHESAS), an award-winning school of high expectations, innovative programming, and caring staff. GHESAS is a diverse community school in Eagan, Minnesota where equity and inclusion of all students is foundational in providing a positive and safe learning environment. We believe that all students can learn! We promote the appreciation of diverse cultures, backgrounds, and talents of each student. 

GHESAS is dedicated to strong instructional programming for all students and works alongside our many community partnerships. Embedding arts and science into our instruction provides our students many rich opportunities to explore, create and wonder about the world around them. 

Social emotional learning is foundational in teaching. Our educators are skilled in implementing mindfulness and movement within their instruction. Our dedicated teachers are trained in delivering instruction within a workshop model in math, reading and writing, providing opportunities for whole group learning, small group instruction, and independent practice. 

Students engage in daily specialist classes throughout the week including physical education, traditional art, multi-media art, library, and music. At GHESAS, we are excited to offer a strings program for students in grades 3-5. Our science specialist works in partnership with our teachers using the design thinking process as a method for solving problems and learning new ideas.

Our specialized teaching staff work collaboratively with classroom teachers and families to meet the diverse needs of our students. Students have access to support services including supplemental small group instruction, English Language, Gifted and Talented, Reading Recovery, and Special Education. GHESAS has a full time social worker dedicated to working with all students and staff on developing social emotional learning and assisting families with resources.
